Inspiration: Sofra, Boston

In some ways, Sofra is the place where the idea for this blog was hatched. Sofra is the AMAZING bakery and casual dining location of Ana Sortun. Sofra means picnic in Arabic and this place has everything you would need for a top notch feast. You can dine in Sofra’s casual setting indoors and outside (seating is limited and fills up quickly) or you can carry your goodies out. Sofra has delicious baked goods as well as an assortment of prepared foods. There are also spice blends and specialty ingredients tucked into every corner of the shop so that you can recreate at home.

Jaime and I took a cooking class here about a year ago. We knew that we had a shared love of cooking and Mediterranean food going into the class, but that evening sealed the deal. Sofra will always have a special place in our hearts. On this trip, I was inspired to pick up nigella seeds. Stay tuned for future posts featuring this special ingredient.
